Twitter and google drive were the main focus in tonight's class. To tweet or not to tweet? That is the question. SO, tonight we explored the world of twitter. There are many people that are in love with twitter and still others of us who have not fallen in love with it yet. I see mass benefits to using twittter for educational and informative purposes. The abilities to network with others, whom encourage or challenge ideas is astounding! Finding examples and data online can be daunting. However, I have witnessed how twitter can open up a whole universe of information with so much less time. I believe twitter has, and will have an impact on the way that educators educate. I'm excited to actually use twitter to find resources for my classroom. I think it would be great to use within the classroom for students to see the useful benefits of twitter besides as a social media outlet of garbage spewing forth from disgruntled folks or information that I believe should be kept private. If i am in a school where all the students have digital access, it would be neat to have the students find and follow 4-5 organizations that focus on our course topic. I could have them make at least two comments per week that would be hashtagged with our class name. This would show me what they were able to find and how it impacted them, as well as teaching them to use twitter for educational purposes.
I also really enjoyed using google drive. There are a vast amount of possibilites for use in the classroom with this tool! I love being able to have multiple people working on the same thing at the same time from all over the world. I also love seeing that as a teacher I can have one document that all of the students can reply to at the same time and I can recieve the data. I would love to use this for tests and surveys as well as Garth's example of exit slips.
